Social isolation and loneliness among Hackney over 50s – planning the next stage of the Connect Hackney programme
Thursday 14 September 2017
9.30am – 12.30pm
Pembury Community Centre, Dalston Lane, E8 1FA
Connect Hackney has been running since 2015 but we are now moving into an exciting new phase, as we develop the programme priorities for 2018 – 2021.
With funding from the Big Lottery Fund’s strategic Ageing Better programme, we have an opportunity to test new ideas, learn and document evidence from a range of interventions targeting older people who may be at risk of isolation in Hackney.
We want to use this evidence and learning to show what works, what doesn’t and why in order to inform policy and approaches to reducing social isolation at both a local and national level.
To help us plan the next phase of the programme, we are holding a stakeholder event on Thursday 14 September.
If you work with older people, play a role in how services are designed or have an interest in ageing and the impact of loneliness and isolation as people get older, this is your opportunity to influence the Connect Hackney programme's work over the next three years.
We will share information about isolation and loneliness nationally and what we know so far about how isolation and loneliness can affect older people in Hackney. There will also be plenty of opportunity to share your views and contribute ideas on the things you think the next stage of the programme needs to take into consideration.
We hope you can join us. If you would like to attend, please register online or call Kim-Lien Ong on 020 7923 8360 to book a place.
