City and Hackney Older People's Reference Group (OPRG) is holding a consultation meeting to discuss Hackney Council's plans to charge for its "telecare" personal alarm service. The meeting will also hear about the council's new service for home adaptations.

Telecare includes emergency pendants that allow people to raise an alarm as well as response and monitoring services. You can see the alarm gadgets, and also find out what the new home adaptations service offers at the meeting.

The meeting takes place on Thursday 23 February , from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

It will be held at Our Lady & St Joseph’s Church Hall ,100a Balls Pond Road, London N1 4AG (nearest buses 30, 38, 56, 277). If you have mobility difficulties, please phone 07810 771 692 for help with transport.

Speakers include:

• Hannah Moorhouse, Hackney council project manager for telecare and personalisation

• A representative from Millbrook, the company providing home adaptations and small repairs
