Hundreds of older Hackney residents will get together at the council’s ever-popular Winter Warmer event, at the end of November.
It’s always a big gathering and a chance to get advice on keeping warm, keeping fit, eating healthily and saving money during the winter months – not to mention help with getting to grips with the new high-tech digital world that we now find ourselves in.
The Winter Warmer is a great opportunity for residents to mingle with neighbours from all parts of the local community and make new friends.
Geoff Gleadhill, aged 80, says, “I thoroughly enjoy going to the Winter Warmer. It’s a great chance for people to come together, see what’s on offer and give it a go.”
There will be stalls from local community groups and council services. Last winter, Hackney residents were surprised to find staff from the parks department handing out pots of locally grown thyme for the kitchen.
This winter’s event takes place on Thursday 30 November 2017, between 11am and 3pm at Hackney town hall’s newly refurbished assembly rooms.
